This Year is coming to an end and one thing I’m grateful in 2012 is achieving my final weight goal. Within 14 months I lost 122 pounds on Weight Watchers. Woo-Hoo! Yippee, Hooray! Yes! I am overly excited about my accomplishment. To achieve my goal I had to get my mind right “Re-Think and Re-Focus” it took a lot of determination and will power but I did it in baby steps. In 2013 I will continue to Re-Think and Re-Focus” to maintain my weight loss. Therefore, if you’re now thinking about losing weight below are helpful guide that help me successfully lose weight through my journey:
1. Make commitment.
2. Find Your Inner Motivation
3. Set realistic goals
4. Enjoy Healthier Fods
5. Exercise
6. Change Your perspective
7. Love Yourselff No Matter What Size You Are
Remember when making a commitment it takes you and only you to stay mentally focus. Therefore, come up with a master plan to your weight loss permanently and not temporarily. Lay all your cards on the table and found out what triggers you whether its stress, finance, relationships before you start on your journey? You need to eliminate the barriers and try to focus on anything that you ever accomplish in life whether getting your degree in high school, college, or certification at least you’d accomplished a goal and you were committed. Find the spark that will keep you on a straight and narrow.
Find your inner motivation:
I repeat no one can make you lose weight. Only you can make yourself strive to lose the weight. Make a list of what’s important to you stay motivated and focused. Your health is important so geared towards a better you. Encourage yourself with inspirational and motivational quotes. Whatever you do not compare your body with anyone.
Set realistic goals for yourself. Please do not be in a hurry to lose 10 pounds in 1 week. Are you kidding me? On a serious note the healthy weight loss is 1 to 2 pounds a week. Let’s keep It real. The more you exercise and burn calories the more you will lose. Make sure you’re eating a low calorie meal don’t expect to eat a cheeseburger with friends and work out you would have to burn 500 to 1,000 calories more than you consume each day. Keep it lite with the calorie intake.
Enjoy healthier foods. Adopt a new eating habit that promotes weight loss and taste good. I know you heard it through the grapevine but its true eat more vegetables, fruits, and whole grains and if you don’t like what you eat how about grabbing the measuring cups because if you want to continue eating fried foods and heavy carbs-starchy foods well you need to start measuring your portion sizes. Cut back will take baby steps but you will see a huge difference though. It's not enough to eat healthy foods and exercise for only a few weeks or even months if you want long-term, successful weight loss. These habits must become a way of life. Lifestyle changes start with taking an honest look at your eating patterns and daily routine. A serving size is a specific amount of food, defined by common measurements such as cups, ounces or pieces. For example, one serving of pasta is 1/2 cup, or about the size of a hockey puck. A serving of meat, fish or chicken is 2 to 3 ounces, or about the size and thickness of a deck of cards. Judging serving size is a learned skill. You may need to use measuring cups and spoons or a scale until you're comfortable with your judgment
It's Exercise Time! If you never ever exercise in your life or its been a while since you’d walked or step into the gym I need you to “Get the stepping!” The key to weight loss is burning more calories than you consume. Because 3,500 calories equals about 1 pound (0.5 kilogram) of fat, you need to burn 3,500 calories more than you take in to lose 1 pound. So if you cut 500 calories from your typical diet each day, you'd lose about 1 pound a week (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories).
Once you change your perspective about losing weight you will be on the right track, which mean you will be unstoppable. Therefore, love yourself no matter what size you are right now -your mind and body will love you even more.
Good Luck and Believe in Yourself! In 2013 Aim for your Weight Loss Goal!
